Dinner:
- Gourmet Hamburgers Topped w/ Mushrooms – Clean mushrooms and slice. Saute in stovetop pan with two small pats of butter; serve on top of hamburgers that have been grilled or cooked on the stovetop.
- Stuffed Shells w/ Garden Salad – Place shells in baking dish and top with tomato sauce. Bake according to package directions. Serve with a garden salad.
- Paprika Garlic Beef w/ Baked Potato – The paprika adds a nice red color! I came up – and tried – this “rub” this week and wow, it came out tasty. Rinse roast and pat dry. Place in crock pot and sprinkle these ingredients over roast: 1/2 cup diced onion, 2 TBS minced garlic, 1 TBS paprika, 1/2 tsp oregano, 1 tsp honey, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper; rub in. Add 1 cup of water to bottom of pot. Cook on high 4 hours, then low 4 -6 hours, or until beef is fully cooked. Serve beef for dinner with baked potato. “Pull” leftover beef and save for BBQ sandwich dinner.
- Ravioli w/ Steamed Broccoli and Garlic Bread – Boil ravioli according to directions on package; top with tomato sauce and serve with a side of steamed broccoli. For bread: Slice baguette lengthwise then drizzle with olive oil and garlic; toast bread and cut into wedges.
- BBQ Beef Sandwiches w/ Homemade Steak Fries – Make sandwiches from pulled leftover beef and serve with fries. For homemade fries: Peel four potatoes and rinse. Cut into long strips, then toss with 2 TBS olive oil and 1 tsp salt. Place in single layer on cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees 20 – 30 minutes or until fries are cooked and crispy.
- Baked Potato Bar – Top baked potatoes with sauteed mushrooms, steamed broccoli, and cheddar cheese.
- This leaves you one night of leftovers or eating elsewhere with family and friends.
Snacks:
- Frozen Fruit Bars
- Pretzels
- Popcorn
- Fruit
- Carrot Sticks
Total Spent: $88.16 (before taxes)
$3.15 per person/per day (based on a family of four)

Question…..I’ve been watching this post for weeks now and plan to utilize it with groceries for the first time this week. My question is: As I undertand this is a list of groceries for the week based off the Publix sales. What do you do for b/f and lunch seeing that you don’t post the other days of the week? do you repeat what you’ve listed?

I just want to say that I am LOVING your Publix meal planner. I am new to couponing, but have been doing it for the last 2 months and my family’s diet wasn’t great to begin with, but got even worse because I was only buying the cheapest on sale items and they often happened to be the prepackaged junk foods. Your meal planner is helping me to stay on a budget and eat healthier. The best part is that I can adjust the menu each week to fit what I already have in my pantry and how much money I have. Thank you!!!!

Thanks for your question Jeni – yes, you’re right, the breakfasts and lunches are intended to be repeated. Since cereal tends to come in a box, eggs are sold by the dozen, and bread is made by the loaf, I repeat meals so foods doesn’t get stale or out-dated. Hope this helps…..

Thank you so much, Cathy! I’m glad to hear the news that you are staying on budget and eating better.

Well my Publix didn’t have some of the items on sale that you listed. So I am having to make adjustments. Still I saved over 100 and spent only 88. I’m happy. Thanks.

I’m glad you’re happy Jeni! Good to hear. BUT what’s up with the ads not matching? Hmm….. I don’t know enough about Publix regional sales to give you a good answer as to why that is that way. Positive news: You adapted and saved some $$$.
